Changing...
Being Yourself!
I strongly believe you should never judge people by how they look. The only thing that matters is what's on the inside.
Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys
True friends are here till the end,
Always giving a helping hand.
Trying to be the best,
Cos they wanna beat the rest.
Being yourself is part and parcel of growing up. However, are you putting up a show to bring about the uproars of everyone? The majority of you'll reading this are aware of at least someone falling under this category. Do not be surprise because that person could be you!
When coming into a friendship, you have to have a solid sense of who your friend is. This means knowing him inside out. This may get your friendship to worsen or become better but who is on the gaining side is YOU! You will know the dirty things of that person which appols you. Losing a good looking friend is primary but the secondary part is is his character and history as good looking as he is? Therefore we have to give our friends our authentic self and not be a wolf under sheeps clothing disguising and hiding your inner beauty. You may think it is not considered an inner beauty but everyone has their own point of view, so, cheating on someone is not better than be yourself. This is because living a lie is worst than your horrible inner self. Just remember that true friends enjoy our company as much as we enjoy theirs. With being yourself, you can be assured that you are loved for yourself rather than someone we are pretending to be. Can you live life with that guilt? Well, I can't.
In contrast to what I have mentioned, being yourself does not mean you have to be a lazy bum or an uninterlectual student. You can be those but these are aims to be targeted not lies. Unless you are acting smart when you are not, for example. Thus, being yourself means not living a lie nor trying to get the most popular bag or be the most popular as being yourself will make you humble and that is what people like about other people.
To conclude, do you fall under the category of being someone your not? If you are, wake up and pay attention. To test for this, you can try testing your limits. This means knowing what are our necessities and not, etc. These are boundaries which we have to set to become ourself. So try this out and after returning to blog again, check whether you have became yourself or not. Haha...

Family Versus Work?
A Family That Prays Together Stays Together!

Chewing Gum is Really Grose; Chewing Gum I Hate The Most! Have you as in YOU realise that through Singapore's Labour, Parents spend less time with their family? I am hear today to bring about my point or discussion about this issue or crisis which Singaporeans are facing nowadays. The first thing that comes to an average Singaprean's mind every morning is, work today added with a sigh. Do you really think that this should be the mentality of a Sinaporean? Certainly not. However are the priorities of not wanting to go to work based on laziness or family? From my point of view, I feel that it is based on pure laziness. Do you parents out there want a closer relationship with ur children? The mentality of Singaporeans nowadays are just work, work, work! Parents should spend at least a minimal time of 3 to 4 hours each day with quality family bonding. It comes to my attention that the majority of Singaporeans spend an average of less than 1 hour of QUALITY family bonding. In a 24 hour cycle, an average of 10 hours is allocated to sleeping and about 9 hours for work. So what happens to the other 5 hours? Could you put a bit of your time for pure family bonding meaning turning off your office handphone and bringing your family to places such as the parks to play together, or even go cycling as it kills two birds with one stone; keeping heathy and fit, and family bonding? With this in action, you could probably be someone who can make the world a better place. With family bonding, your child could even grow more open to you and not hide secrets such as giving in to peer pressure by falling under the temptation of smoking. How about taking the first step into this process and, thus, you could live a happier life. From the governments point of view, I feel that it should implement less working time for Singaporeans yet having the same monthly salary. This will definitely result in a better future for not just the country but its people. This prevents attacks from the people about the social welfare and family life bonding of Singapore. With this in mind, a family can definitely strive to spend more time with each other as with this bonding, divorce cases would probably deteriorate. So lastly, what can you do to aid in family bonding. As a child, you could beg your parents to bring you to places where not only you can enjoy but for the whole family. Such examples include theme parks and cinemas but if you are on a budget yet want to bond with your family, the beach is a good place as you can all either have a picnic or go fish in the sea. These are what many people do during family bonding. However for my case, since i am in a youth group in church(not totally), I see how Catholic families spend their saturdays. They spend it by joining the Family Life Society of the Church. In this society, one can experience god and your family at the same time thus making church your little home like Mary, Joseph and Jesus did. This is because a family that prays together stays together! So to conclude, there are disadvantages resulting in or will result through family bonding however, I do not want to touch on that topic. By the way the advantages of family bonding over rules the disadvantages and as a result I strongly support Family Bonding. If possible, make it for the OLPS Family Camp this year in November as this is an experience worth experiencing!

I'll Be There For You!(F.R.I.E.N.D.S)
The Future Friends!

Blogging again.... Today was a fine day... we had a national day celebration, which was cocking n boring... Since nothing juicy to entertain you, I will come up with a discussive writing as this might aid in my 'O' Level English Exams. Here it goes... Titled Friends!
"Lisa, why don't you hang out with Tracy anymore?" asked a friend.
"Would you hang out with someone or a best friend who is dating your ex, copies your style, clothes, accent and even the way you laugh?" replied Lisa.
"I guess not," admitted the friend.
"Would you want to hang out with someone for whom, no matter what you did for her, was never enough? Would you want to hang out with someone who talks behind your back?" Lisa continued.
"No way," agreed the friend.
"Neither did Lisa," replied Tracy.
(Adapted from Teen Love Series ON FRIENDSHIP
*This is an edited version on the one from the book to make it more juicy!)
No one wants to be the centre of "dis-attraction". Even the most quiet, unpopular person will one day bloom at the centre stage where a sea of faces stare at the gorgeous you and may probably give a standing innovation to rile up all the ego deep inside. However, are we trying too hard to be infront of the crowd first? Or are we just growing up too fast?
As teenagers, many of us suffer this fate of changing too fast to adapt to the characters of our friends or to be the most popular person. From my point of view, I think this is rather a big Waste of time(with a capital W). I may have been a victim of this but what difference does it make to change to someone who you have always dreamt of? Popularity is always short term. The long-term issue here is, are we going to still have the same group of friends who we spend our boring Friday nights with? We are all on the verge of becoming the matured independent adults of the world. Due to this process of growing up too fast, we tend to lose the ones we love and become our worst nightmares without us realizing it. People do not see each other for who they are but for what they are. Therefore, old friends get driven away and the new ones get drawn into the picture.
Friends are driven away from each other merely due to the fact that they are jealous of each other. From my perspective, I would agree to a certain extent. This is especially so for females. They tend to realize every detail of a person rather than the person at a whole. As a result, they get jealous that her other friend has the latest Von Dutch bag, etc.
On the other hand, old friends get driven away from each other also due to relationships. A similar case as the extract above has occurred with some of my friends. The results are, lost of best friends and the biggest jerks are the couple. They may not realize it but they look like one(couple of jerks)(sounds cool!). These are the effects of the fast paced growing up. So, are you a victim of these problems?
